Girls Varsity Bowling Wins Metro Conference Title with 17-13 Win Over Flushing

The Kearsley Varsity Girls Bowling team traveled to Colonial Lanes in Flushing for a showdown with the Flushing Raiders for the Flint Metro Conference Title. The match started a little slow for the girls as they lost the first Baker game 146 to 159 to Flushing and then Flushing defeated Kearsley the 2nd Baker game 180 to 173. With a commanding 10-0 lead in the match Flushing started the first individual game very strong and the Kearsley girls were in a big hole, but they would not give up as they continued to work to chip away at the lead and they pulled out the first game with a score of 999 to Flushing 943. Flushing still held the lead in the match and they started the final game strong but they just couldn't keep up as the Kearsley girls started striking and Kearsley won 4 out of 5 games the final game and with a score of 1018 to 886 the Kearsley girls pulled out the match. The total final pinfall was Kearsley 2336 to Flushing 2168 and the final score was 17-13 in favor of Kearsley. Scores for Kearsley were Samantha Timm with games of 186 & 170, Allison Robbins with games of 209 & 208, Emilea Sturk with games of 214 & 224, Megan Timm with a 202 game, Imari Blond with games of 188 & 236 and Hannah Simms with a 180 game. The win leaves the Kearsley girls record at 11-0 for the season and makes it the 11th straight year Kearsley has won the Flint Metro Conference title. The win is also the 131st straight victory in the conference over those 11 years. The Kearsley girls will bowl the final Metro Conference competition on Saturday at Grand Blanc Lanes as they bowl the Conference singles tournament at 2pm. Congratulations ladies!
